I am replacing my clutch pressure plate and friction disc. I have to move in a couple days and i have to get my truck all back together. Do you guys think this flywheel is ok to reuse? I
Could probly afford to wait one day and get one from my
Local ford dealer tomorrow. It feels ok no nasty grooves or anything but it looks like theres some overheated blue spots. Thanks for your reply. - cam

You have it torn apart, replace the flywheel no harm done. Its better to do it now than have to tear it all apart again LOL. Maybe have the flywheel resurfaced but if it looks like there are burn spots in it I would replace it and be done with it, otherwise you'll have clutch grabbing issues in those burn spots.

There is ONE local machine shop that has the proper turntable Blanchard grinder for resurfacing flywheels and he charges $35(+tx), ignoring the cost of shipping Rock Auto sells a NEW Luk flywheel for virtually the same price....

So I'm in the middle of doing the clutch on my truck and it's wearing a shiny new flywheel

For me its cheaper to buy a brand new one then it is to have the old one properly machined.

The local machine shops charge roughly $20 and will have it done in an hour or two (usually.) Easy choice, I always have them machined, unless the ring gear is trashed.
