lights to music

if i want to put lights in my truck to blink to the music, do i need to buy special lights or can i just wire some leds to the speakers, Ive been trying to figure out how they work but with no success. thanks

ya jsut wire them to the speakers, either jsut get 12v led lights or buy teh bulbs at radio c=shack and ger resistors and u can put them all over, i did that in my car and it was pretty cool, jsut put in a switch cuz it can get annoying sometimes

I borrowed a neon strip from my friend. I have it hooked up to one of my subs. The only problem I have is that I have to have my radio turned up a good bit for the neon to be bright.

i have some 12 volt leds. so all i have to do it wire them to the speakers? i tried it without the speaker connected and it didnt work but that may be because the speaker wasnt there im not sure.

Yes. I have the neon hot wire plugged in with the sub hot wire, and the neon ground wire plugged into the sub ground wire.

ya if u got an amp its better so u dont lose so much power, but stock can power the lights

well i have an aftermarket headunit and i plan on getting an amp soon, but leds arent gonna draw very much power.

youd be surprised, considering each speaker has a huge difference in sound by drawing out that 2-5 volts you will ahve to turn ur sound up.
