2.9 is fuel injected, 2.8 is carbed. I doubt much of anything is compatible from one to the other.

Alternator-no

Oil filter- yes

drain plug- yes.

Given the exact structure of his question I would guess we have another goon who has gone and gotten the fool idea of putting a 2.8 top end on his 2.9 because he is stuck in the 50s and thinks carbs are better than fuel injection.

But...but...but... with a carb he can stick a holley 4-barrel carb and instantly triple horsepower can't he!?

Only if triple the horse power means he eats 3x's as many taco's and farts into the fuel tank.

In all honesty? There may have been a legit reason for the question.

There may have been, but go search around for people asking about 2.8/2.9 parts. Almost everyone who focuses on the top end like this guy did is looking to carb a 2.9. Also, he specifically asked if the carb would swap.

Only legit reason I can think of for that question is if you have a 2.8 with a blown up bottom end and a 2.9 with a worn out truck.

To Adams 08 : You need to watch your mouth . Appears things are leaking out of it . I didn't call you anything derogatory in my question. I appreciate it if you talk only to your children like that since you don't know me.

In all honesty the only reason for putting a carb on a 2.9 is if you want to make it run like a steaming pile of dogshit.

I understand what you are saying . But, I don't appreciate people who have no idea who I am nor think that maybe they should ask questions to clarify their answers just take it on their own stupidity and make fun of someone and/or call them a name . Just shows how much of a MORON they are ! They need to get off this site and sign up for Ringling Brothers clown site. Bunch of dumbasses there. They should fit in well there.
