Ok so yet another setback....short story shorter it needs serious repairs to the front end. One day I'll be able to buy parts for boost but not today [emoji33]

The more I inspect it the more I realize how much damage there is. I would love to fix it but it's seeming like more work than its worth. The whole cab appears to be twisted and at least the front needs major work. I am going to start removing parts to see if it's worth the effort.

What'd you decide?

All that work into that engine I'd say pull it and do the plumbing on the exhaust for a new Ranger. Use that one as a donor truck for any parts needed then scrap it for about $3-400.

Still working on damage assessment. Issue there is finding a truck worth the effort on the cheap. Seems like ill be literally hammering out the dents for the time being. But i still have yet to determine if the damage has compromised any structural component's

A new radiator support is cheap but the fender superstructure would need to get heated, hammered, or pulled back out.

Still, old rangers on the cheap is under $1500.

Unfortunately that puts me over budget on the build. By cheap i mean almost free lol. I might be able to use the cab from my donor but idk if it's worth the effort of swapping everything over.

The substructure is definitely kinked but how bad idk...it might be easy to pull out. I might have time tomorrow to dig into it so ill post back with pictures.

Yea also know a good welder so might be able to cut out the bad and tack in the good. Been looking at my options to try to save some money. Really hoping i can order the parts needed to finish the turbo this summer but all rides on the cabs condition

Ok so didnt have time to get to the ranger. My wifes freestyle needed a y-pipe and surprise...it had studs off the manifolds and needed to be pressed out. I might have time this weekend.

Had some time to work on the truck. Unfortunately no pictures yet. The sub frame was kinked in 2 places but over all not in bad shape. I managed to straighten it out pretty good with a comealong and a big hammer. Still not perfect but goodish enough too look straight with everything bolted up and adjusted.

Also flattened out the fender enough to make it easy with some body filler and a sander. Its a decent job for just winging it to see if its saveable. I plan to bolt everything up and ill shoot some pictures then.

Sometimes a bit of heat will help smooth out wrinkles. Put a torch to it first if you plan to bondo and sand it.
