I have replaced the iac twice with mixed results. Does any one know if there was any truth to getting your ecu flashed to make idle problem go away.this truck never had a idle problem for years then i realize the dealership had flashed the ecu because the stragety changed . Any ideas guys?

Mine doesn't make any strange noises when the ac turns off and on. Also no idle issues. I have been doing my own tuning with sct advantage III when I have time to play with it. I wonder if the noise could be a worn coupler in the snout?

What have you tried for the idle issue? You may need to adjust the TPS and throttle stop.

You might want to check for a vacuum leak for the idle problem.

Check TPS(throttle position sensor) voltage when throttle is closed, should be .69-.99volt, under 1 volt
Key on engine off
Top wire should be 5volts, from computer
Center wire should be .69-.99volt, this tells computer to set idle via IAC Valve, above 1 volt means driver(gas pedal) wishes to set idle

TPS can be loosened and rotated a bit but if it has been replaced you may need to remove it and elongate the holes a bit so you can set under 1 volt.

There was a software issue for the 4.0 SOHC manual trans that would cause stalling in neutral, but I don't think that started until 04.
