I have a 2003 Ford Ranger XLT with the 4.0 liter engine. My wife was driving it the other day and was having some problems so she had one of the maintenance guys look at it from work. Now somehow I think the anti-theft system got triggered and it won't start. Does anyone know how to reset this? The theft light blinks on and off and it just makes a clicking noise when you try to start the truck. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don't mean to sound rude, but your first post is asking how to bypass the anti theft system. You have to agree this sounds a little fishy?

Have you tried calling the dealer?

You actually count people's posts? That sounds fishy.

Yep... Takes a lotta skill to look under your username to see your post count. You now have two... and I didn't even have to take my shoes off to count!

It sounded odd to skate past the original issue the truck was said to be having. I mean we don't need the whole story, but if you want a decent response, you have to give some more info. What was the truck doing prior to the maintenance man looking at it? Maybe that had something to do with it? Should have used your second post to give us some more details.

When the anti-theft module got tripped on my mazda, it wouldn't even click. I'd suspect a dead battery or solenoid that gave up.
