Does the Edge/Powerdome hood have more clearance?
I am doing a 2002 coil spring Ranger with a VW TDI engine conversion. Right now the flange on the intake is pressing into hood mat on the center spine of the aluminum hood. The racepipe and 2 1/2" intercooler pipe will stick further forward so I probably need an inch or so of clearance to make it work.
The pan is about 3/4" off of the rack. Oil pump limits modifying the pan. Engine is tilted up slightly.
My preference is going with a Powerdome/Edge hood if it offers any extra clearance.
Otherwise I am fabricating a new intake. I don't really want to cut the hood and a body lift is out.
Thanks in advance.
Engine ALH and trans NV3550 are in. Accessory brackets are rough fabbed and tacked. About ready to start on wiring.
