About a week ago when we got some heavy rain. It came on. I would park and come back later. It would be off. Then I would start driving and on it came. After the rain event it went off until this morning. Rain again.

I am thinking a connection or sensor is getting wet and shorting. Any thoughts?

Check all connections on the sensor wires, check the abs module itself.

For sure the rain is causing a short somewhere

Codes. It is pointless to ask about malfunction indicator lights without having codes. Asking without bringing codes is the same as asking for wild guesses.

They do make a spray sealer for electrical connections.

If I were you, I'd disconnect, clean and reconnect the front ABS wiring connectors, then spray them with the sealer.

Then, I'd do the same to the rear ABS Sensor connector on the rear axle.

Then, I'd do the same thing to the connector under the driver seat that brings all the rear wiring into the cab. (actually, I would do this one dead last, after doing all the rest and waiting for another rain)

Then, I'd attack the connections at the ABS Module itself, under the hood.

Then, I'd crack open a beer and wait for the next good rain.

The average DIY-er can't access ABS Codes. :annoyed:
Most of us aren't going to pay Ford to do an ABS diagnosis either.

Bottom line, clean and seal the likely places for a rain intrusion problem, connections that are OUT IN THE RAIN. While you are at it, take a real good look at the wiring overall. Water tends to wick along a harness. Anywhere a harness can rub against the body can become a problem area with the addition of the rain. If I were a betting man, I'd put $ on one of the front sensor connections is the problem.
