Truck will not start

I went 4x4 to Azuza canyon lots of deep puddles truck was running good until coming back home the oil gage drop to low very fast, and started making a pining sound checked oil it was good, the noise got worse the furder I got down the mountain acceleration was getting weak and not responding then it died and would not start it just makes a clicking sound by the starter I have no idea where to start looking and testing.

Can you turn the engine over by hand (with I think an 18mm?, extension and rachet)? Sounds like it might have ceased up...

Could be vapor locked, try turning it with the crankshaft pulley, as forementioned with a socket and preferably a breaker bar, if it turns, you may be able to get it running again

Mine did it too in a mud drag........... result was a ceased engine. Just remove the oil plug and take a close look to the oil, if it's "sparkling" to light it's bad sight.
