hi all.. been poking around here for some time for answers here and there..
just wanted to post about my 84 ranger 2.8 that had a constant high idle..
only owned it for about 3 months and have been fixing it up here and there..
it has at least 260k miles but could be 360k on the original motor
turns out that i had to replace the ECT sensor on the thermostat housing and that fixed the problem immediately.. part #ts4060sb cost $12 at napa but i work there.. i think retail is about $22 i went with the miliage plus brand over the echlin due to cost.. i looked at them both in the box and they are the exact same part prolly manufactured by the same ..
now i just need to flush that rusty radiator juice tomorrow.. the old sensor was corroded badly..
next up is replacing the fuel tank selector valve..
