head replacement on 2.3l and in trouble

i have a 1992 2.3l ranger and i replaced the head with a 1997 head. now i dont get ciompression i dont think that the 97 head is compatible. does anyone know?

You cam timing and cylinder timing is 90 degrees off, your valves are opening during compression cycle. Thats the only thing I can think of, then again yo unver know. You should post in the 4 cylinder forum, those guys actually drive them and are muchmore knowledgable than some of us in the build threads.
