I have a 2011 XLT/sport that was originally sold in Canada. It's a replacement for my rolled/dead 2008 fx4, and I like it very.
Two questions. Simple ones, I hope.
There's a standard three-wire appliance plug that hangs behind the left tow hook. It's got a weather cap on it, and the wire is sheathed in that woven nylon housing. I have no idea what it does. My local dealer thought it might be a power lead for aux lighting, but I can't see ford using an appliance plug for that. You'd have to change a plug somewhere in order to use it for that.
Block heater? External battery tender lead? I don't have the original owner's manual, and I have no idea.
Second, what's the black plastic lump on the passenger side of the roof? Temp sensor? Antenna? Again. No idea.
Thx.
