That should be easy! Get the gt40 heads, a good cam, new pistons and a roller block. Match that with a sploder intake and that efi kit and you should get more than that.

Been thinking about me wanting another truck next year but the cost of that will be the same as I want to spend on the fast fuel setup and if I get another ranger, then I will end up putting this one on the back burner. May just do the escape, get the efi setup and drive the tbird till it blows up unless I can find a 2wd ranger for cheap.

That doesn't sound like a bad idea. Im surprised how cheap a base, no frills, 4th gen is now. You could have a first and last gen!

My goal is to get one and get at least 20mpg with it but have decent power too, hard to have both with an early lima 2.3 that are in the first gen and second gen. Also I want the creature comforts on the inside such as a/c. If I get one or the other, it without be a cake walk on doing just about anything I can imagine on them, such as another 5.0 swap, lowering, etc... Maybe get into the boosted scene with a 2wd ranger, just have to find a complete TC setup and go from there.

My buddy had an 01 with the 2.5. It was great.....he sold it and got a car payment (on a jeep). He regrets it too, lol

I don't want a car payment, insurance is enough as it is on two vehicles let alone another one we will have.

I hear ya. Me too....my wife's car is almost paid off. I hope to get another car soon so I can stop daily driving the ranger and actually do more that repairs. I'm thinking a focus or a crown Vic. I like the idea of the crown Vic a lot.

I want to drive my ranger more often but the mileage sucks, need to find people who have done the bolt on efi are getting for mileage and what not. There is a setting for that or power. Right now I need to order a new coil still, may do that in a bit. Would drive it today but because of that issue, it has made it unreliable to drive.

Yeah, that sucks man. I dont know anyone personally but i bet the milage would be better. The efi would be worth the money thats for sure. If im lucky enough to toss a 302 in mine It'll be injected. Whether it's a bolt on or just a factory injected 302...i dont know enough about carbs.

The carb was easier to do at the time since it was slap on and go. I love the carb look with the reliability of efi. Also my truck had an efi 2.3 in it years ago so I have all the fuel lines on the truck already. I can save myself $200 by using a factory ford fuel pump since it runs at 43psi, which is what the fast fuel pump runs at. But that's if I can get the pumps for cheap but I see myself breaking even if I get the factory pumps vs getting the all in one kit.
