Suppose the first white truck is the same RH drive possibly white one that was spotted headed west thru Oklahoma a few months ago? Sure looks like it.

Why RH drive? And why Detroit to Cali rather than some port of entry to Cali... or then why not just find a desert in Austrailia? All questions things are as they are if it isn't coming here.

I don't think it gets below 50 usually in Australia even in the winter. Unless you were torture testing for hot weather, I don't know why you'd need to take it anywhere else.

If that is the case I would build an Australian Ranger in Australia and ship it to California to test rather than ship the truck in pieces to be assembled in Detroit as a LH drive truck and then shipped to California.
