never ran them but from what all my toyota buddies say iroks are awesome wheeling tires but might as well be made out of butter on the road... they are one of the best snow tires from what i've seen... my friends dad has a cj on 36" iroks and he pulled me out in the snow when i had my thornturds, he never spun a tire and he was crawling all around my truck... just to piss me off i think ha ha. we should wheel this winter if i ever get my 85 going.

did you NEED to shorten the axles when you had the dana 44 and 9 inch? do you know if the mounts would be good where they are to fit on a ranger or would you need to move the brackets

wellllll..... the first set of axels i was going to keep them full width but i sold them because i didn’t know what way i wanted to go... but they way im running it now is basically the same c clip axel out of a 1978 ford bronco but i cut it down to match the ranger 8.8 because all my friends were getting pulled over... now i wish i would of kept the front axel full width because that would of saved me money and time. so i would say keep them full width but it depends on where you live and what your cops think. now if you keep them full width it depends on how you are going to spring it. if you use what i did coilovers you have all the freedom in the world to do what you want but that also depends on if your going to keep it the radius arm set up because if you go full width then you need bent arms to correct the mounting position but if you are going to go just coil spring then you will have to make new buckets and maybe flip your spring retainers so its close into your frame... but what do i know i did it and i just read on the web:icon_rofl:

Truck looks awesome man! I had a weight training class with you at clark and I remember you talking about wanting to do this swap. I saw you driving not too long ago (therangerstation.com decal on the windshield gave it away) and figured I should see if the build was on here. Cool to see fellow trs-er's in Vancouver, but anyway good work looks great! :headbang:

Oh yeah saw the rig up on craigslist, i'd buy it if I could afford it haha. I think you should keep it tho and show up all the guys around here who think anything but a toyota is crap. A 60 swap would be killer on that thing too!

Better ground clearance than a 14b, its full floating and has disk brakes. you could get a 10.25 as well, but it has drums
