My credo
A legend to the old man, a hero to the child...
Sounds like maybe a failed sensor in the distributor, or possibly a wireing issue.

Welcome to TRS :)

Book mark this page: http://www.therangerstation.com/tech_library/index.shtml

It's at the top of every page here, "Tech Articles" link

Browse thru the pages, loads of Ranger info there, lots of "been there, done that" articles from members as well

If you post the exact code numbers it would be helpful

Your TFI ignition and wiring are 30 years old, which will cause some issues, stuff does wear out, lol
Good read here on testing that system: http://www.therangerstation.com/tech_library/TFI_Diagnostic.shtml
This is from above Tech section, under ignition systems
