My passenger headlight blew today. I was thinking of going with Silverstar Ultras, any recommendations or experiences with them?

Im not that big of a fan of Sylvania lights ever since I got my Phillips X-Treme bulbs. They are A LOT brighter than even the Ultras. They are more of a true white light as well.

I got em' little on the expensive side IMO compared to lights with somewhat less light output though... I should note I never use them either... I always have my KC's on when no ones around

I ran 'em in my Subaru and they made a HUGE difference in output and visability. They are alot better than the normal Silverstars that I had in the ranger at one point. But don't pay full price for 'em...Shucks/Checker/Kragen run mail-in rebates alot of times bringing the price down to like $30 a pair.

Got em in my 05 sport trac and my ranger. Love them in both.

They have been in the ranger for 3 years without burning out yet.

I have them in my auxiliary lights. Far much more better than stock lights.

Sounds like you need to re-aim your lights.

As a truck driver they piss almost all of us off. Mainly because no one bothers to properly aim their headlights. The ones that are properly aimed I don't mind at all.

I also recommend the ultras. I run them in both my trucks and the civic.

I have Silverstar's in my Bronco II, Silverstar Ultras in my dad's Dodge Dakota (also 9007 Bulb) and there's not much difference between the two (we installed them at the same time) so I wouldn't say the Ultras are worth the $10 over the normal silverstars. They are MUCH better than a standard halogen bulb though, a lot whiter, and significantly brighter. They come close to the 4000k that they claim.

That said, Phillips xtreme are the way to go. Brightest bulb out there that you can get really. The Ultras are ok though if you want to buy locally and don't want to mess around buying stuff on the net. I will say though, that once my silverstars burn out, my headlights are getting Phillips bulbs.

Hope this helps!

Hah its also funny cause peopel probably put in expensive bulbs because they couldn't see well with the old lights, not because they were old but because the housings aren't properly lined up. Properly Aligned lights don't glare into oncoming traffic as well as maximize the lightings effectivness.

I love my Ultras but they have a dark tint to the bulb, its even darker now for some reason... :icon_confused: My next bulbs are going to be Phillips Xtremes too. So I say Phillips extremes.
