Hey fellas! I am looking for the frame width of a ranger at the coil buckets (just behind the steering box bulge
On the drivers side) on a 1989-1996 ranger or explorer. I couldn't find a single rig without a motor at the junk yard and it is a difficult measurement to obtain with the engine in and I desperately need an accurate measurement for my solid axle swap.

Anyone with a engineless frame and a tape measure willing to help please?

Thanks in advance!

String up 2 plumb bobs. Or maybe tack a piece of angle iron going down on each side. Measure at 2 points a good distance away to check for any angles.

I'm guessing you have the axle out from under there already, or that would complicate things...

No the axle is still in my truck. Right now I am setting up the new solid axle, so I can have it ready to swap. I would like to get the mounts all located so I can paint it and keep the rust off then I can move on to setting up gears and other things. I considered using plumb bobs, but it is really difficult with everything in there. A engineless frame would be perfect- hoping someone has one laying around!
