I was told to repost this here hoping one of you guys would be able to help:

So I have officially got my short block assembled and have my new heads ported and polished. I am looking ahead and aside from pushrods from smith bros the only thing left is a tune for this motor.... I'm having tons of problems getting someone to tune it, anyone have suggestions?

the truck:
1996 ford ranger ext cab 5 sp

the motor:
4.0l OHV
13:1 compression
422 comp cam
http://www.compcams.com/Company/CC/cam-specs/Details.aspx?csid=954&sb=2
port and polish heads and lower intake
long tubes with full 2.5in exhaust
AC delete but still has EGR

I'm thinking to battle detonation I'll retard the cam a degree or two and tune it a little rich. I'm trying to find either someone who can tune it for me OR a platform where I can tune it myself. I have lots of experience with diablo and HP Tuners but I'm not sure who even makes stuff for this truck besides SCT and they won't return my calls or emails.

Most shops I call say not only can't they do it, they don't know where to send me. This is a freakin N/A motor, it should be cake to tune.

Enter your ZIP and a search radius. I just did a search using the zip code 48858 (based on your location given in your sig), and found 10 tuners within 100 miles. I'd call around and see which of them is willing and able to help. A shop with a dyno is probably a better idea than one without a dyno. I'd try and research which of the shops has the best reputation in the local Ford community too.
