So I replaced my turn signal assembly twice now (first replacement had cheap hazard switch break off).

Over several months, I've noticed my turn signal not working from time to time - about 10% of the time. But now, it pretty much does not work 95% of the time (but still does every now and then).

The Hazard lights works fine - both blink at steady rate / solid if brakes are applied.

I do have an old hitch. There are some older wires going from it to my lighting wires. I hate to pull it all apart - but I will. I won't use the hitch for anything but a few bikes - so I don't need lighting.

I doubt its the actually turn signal assembly, but I have a spare new one just in case it is. Kind of a pain dealing with it, but I've done it 3 times now.

Any advise would be appreaciated. Does my year have a "Flasher Relay"? Maybe that could be it... I've had 2 other relays replaced and that did wonders (fuel pump relay). Where would the flasher relay be located if I have one?

Thanks.

Well, go figure... I fiddled with the Flasher Relay (in the fuse box area - big silver round thing) and what do you know? It seems to work fine now! When I say fiddle... it felt loose when I grabbed it. I pulled it out (it has two prongs) and pushed it back in. All is well for now. If it works its way loose again, I may bend a prong or throw some tape over it or something. Maybe pick up a new one... looks pretty cheap.

Good luck if you have the same problem.

could be something in the dash switch for the hazards. When the turn signals don't work, neither does the A/C fan selector switch thingy. f I jiggle the ignition switch while the car's running, the blinkers and fan start working fine again.

I have the same problem. Just noticed the fan problem the other day and realized that it was related to the turn signals. I'll check the flasher relay, but I'll also remember to jiggle the ignition switch if it happens again. Maybe someone will figure out the real underlying cause...
