I'm working on a 2.3t swap. I want to keep the AC. Is there a aftermarket tubular header that shifts the turbo out of the way for the air box or any other way? I'd like to avoid cutting the box if possible. Thanks for any tips, tricks or suggestions.

In other ford chassis people have gained clearance by "flipping" the exhaust manifold

The bolt pattern to the head will allow this and it moves the turbo "Up and forward"

But this can create other issues, like requiring fabrication of new ducting to and from the turbo, as well as new oil feed and drain lines...

And if you were planning on using a '88-89 T'bird intercooler in it's stock location (on the engine) this pretty much bones your using one...

ebay headers are out there, but most if not all are junk and will crack. you can flip the E6 or Gnari cast manifold, Chip makes flip adapters that make the job much easier. He doesn't have them on his website, but may have a set of the plates to do the flip.

or make your own.

In the back of my mind, I thought 40Bob made a header that allowed A/C to fit properly with a turbo swap. Anybody else remember for sure?
