I bought this from Autozone. Thought is was just supposed to slip in and disconnect the line. It's not doing it. Obviously, there is something else I should know? I really need to get this fuel pump changed. Please help. Many thanks in advance!

Well, can't figure out how to post a pic on here, guess I need help with that, also. Ha! It's the metal scissor type with two sizes.

Upload to imagur, photobucket or the like. Copy the IMG file and paste it into the dropdown box that is in the mountain icon in the header bar of the reply box.

If the fuel connection is what I'm thinking, it's a bitch. Using the tool, push in and out a few times and spray wd40 or air to clean out debris. Keep working it, it will come apart eventually. I've never liked the scissor type, I use the Lisle version of the tool, there is 6? individual sizes [white plastic] for different tube sizes on a black plastic rail.

You clamp it around the fuel line then slide it towards the connector, I have used a pair of pliers or screwdriver to tap it in far enough to release the catch/tabs.

Short video here of that type of connection: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DvngvwOy2ns

It shows the tools mention by alwaysFlOoReD

Thanks, y'all. I got it off. Channel locks to pull connector forward while tapping on the tool with sheet metal cutters. Jeez, I'd like to meet the guy that came up with that design.

Me too!

I'd like to shake his hand. However that invention works, is a mystery to me, but I now see it on lots of pressure pipes. Including 12 inch underground water pipes.

Something else that helps is to spray it out with brake cleaner. Blow it out with compressed air to get the debris out. After that spray some spray lubricant in it. Twisting also help ls.
