Stuck halfway through axle swap

I need the cover from the old differential but i didnt drain it before it came off the truck, just need to know how i can drain it off the truck without making a huge mess

Get an oil drain pan, pull the bolts out with the last bolt being at 12 o'clock. Loosen the last bolt about one turn, then gently pry the lower cover and it'll start to drain. Once the seal is broke, remove the bolt, then the cover...

Put it on jackstands put drain pan under then do what rangerSVT said
