I'm looking for a little guidance on replacing the flexible fuel line(s) from the hard line that sweeps up inside the frame by the drivers fender to the threaded connection on top of the engine (mine split open at one connection, the other is fubar) The trouble is that there are none to be found, not by Mazda, Ford, or any parts chain I could call. Any suggestions? Anyone fab these up from braided? If so where did you find the hardware and what line did you use?

Personally if it was my I would just use rubber fuel line, or aftermarket braided fuel line.

I've seen high pressure rubber fuel line at my parts place. I'm not too sure about what I would do to connect, maybe doubled screw clamps.

Wait, are you talking about the lines that look braided? Cause if so they are normal nylon line under that. Dorman makes the line and any fittings you could possible need.

Note that there are 2 different sizes of line and fittings.

Yes, the lines that look braided. The problem is the disconnects ford/mazda uses are where the line failed (rusted to pieces) so I have to put a flared fitting on the solid line if I can't find a replacement from the filter up. Since no lines exist, as far as I can find, I've gotta make new. I may wind up just using brake line and putting a few vibration-absorption coils in the line near the frame and running solid line the whole way. Cheap, easiest choice so far, and should last longer than the truck has left. I was just hoping someone would say "try here" or "yeah, I have some in the garage I never used..."

Brake line will not hold up as a fuel line. The gasoline will soften the rubber cause it to break under pressure and leak .You need To use fuel line.

Actually, with the coils in it, that should be better than stock. Unless of course it heats the fuel in the line and causes problems.

After fighting and trying to find a viable repair I scrapped the truck over a year ago... pained me to do it but I was sitting on a completely worthless truck, which was in great shape except for a fuel line... shame
