Hey there. Been meaning to get on a forum for a WHILE here...

Bought this Bronco in December of 2013 from an older gentleman who was a war vet... From what I can tell, he took great care of it- Then it came into my hands.. Haha.

I beat the SHIT out of this truck. I've jumped it, 4wheeled it over things that have blown my mind, and driven it to 13,000 feet.

Here's a stock ish photo:

Got some 31" tires on it ...

Photos are giant, sorry. Lol.

I'm a big skiier, and my skis never leave my trunk when there's snow on the ground.. Durango, Colorado, has a great ski spot 30 mins from town.. So one day, I was cleaning out the Bronco and I knocked a ski pole into a window, shattering it...

The local glass shop quoted me at $400 for a new rear passenger window..

So I busted out the metal grinder and sawzall, and chopped the back off, just in time for the summer.

Slept in here a lot this summer, all over the place

Here's a shot of when i FIRST chopped it:

Spent the majority of last night and today sealing up the cab for the winter..

This truck ROMPS through 3 feet of snow without an issue.. I love it.

Picked up a bench seat from a Ranger in perfect condition, at the junkyard ..

I'm kinda getting proud of this thing.. Haha.

you better beef up that structure unless you only drive it on the road.

only thing better then a b2 chop...is that big bitch in front of it in the later picture.

He's the best!

Here's a shot of him earlier, chasing off a bear trying to get into my yard

Yeahhh that full-size is a a problem truck.. Not mine.

I'm looking to have a roll-cage welded.

Been thinking about fiberglassing in the hatch, to make a sealed cab..

not sure yet.

I definately off-road it. No more this year, but next year will be a fun one

the b2 is ridiculously nimble....but the fs bronco is ridiculously utilitarian.

many guys put ranger tailgates and caps on the rail to beef up the sheet metal structure. the one i have is built with a diamond plate structure with full half cab being the goal..so no way to have rear seats....the next one will be quite a bit different as far as flexibility and passenger capacity.

Little bit of an update here..

Got a job doing roofing, so I'm making some decent pay for the moment.

Built a wooden frame / cover with door hinges for the back of the bed.. in the previous picture, I just drilled a piece of plywood down to cover the bed. It started warping/looking like shit, and I needed something useful.

https://scontent-sea1-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xtp1/v/t1.0-9/11147013_10205407260998308_676312943001031558_n.jpg?oh=024ec45743b766c70a5195b1e5e73080&oe=568BB32C[img]

So NOW, I can use my bed, cover it up so my tools are protected from the rain, and it only cost me about $30.

I chopped the hatch in half; half of it for my tailgate, and the windowed half to seal up the cab.

I had it gorilla taped for awhile, but it's been raining, leaky, etc; and I decided it was time to seal up the cab..

Around town I've been having a lot of people check out my truck, even had an older lady take a picture of it yesterday.. So I figure I may as well finish this car semi-professionally, could be a great seller.

Anyhow.. I'm just waiting for the fiberglass to dry so I can sand it, and do some bondo work over that to finish up the roof, for now..

DAMN this photo looks messy haha

Cheers!

Below are some photos from two weeks ago, my friend Karl and I went 4 wheeling with my pup riding in the middle. BEFORE any bondo work.. just silicone / duct tape & great stuff.. haha

Taken @ 12,000ft... Peaks are all around 14,000.

yup.....it does what it needs to....

i am a function first guy myself. but you may be better off making a drip curve to seal it up over the roof and down the side a bit, as wheeling will destroy the glass job as your structured now.

and a pop in ladder rack for roofing....so i would make an insert lid for the bed to accommodate that....really opens options for hauling stuff.

send me dimensions and i could weld ya up something simple out of black pipe....then you can haul a canoe or lil boat up there as well.

That would be awesome!

Kind of been alone on this project besides the input friends have given.. Having a forum like this is so great though, ill def keep in touch with you on that.

Not sure how much wheeling ill be doing right this sec;

What do you mean by a drip curve?

Pretty much got it all glassed / bondo'd over right now.

Looks good I'm considering moving to Colorado in the next year or so, but I'm not real sure as I'm Texas born and raised and Colorado is cold for me but offers a lot more wheeling opportunities.
