I'm going to be purchasing a truck that has been sitting at the collision shop I work for a little while. The guy fell asleep at the wheel and did some damage to the front end, nothing that can't be repaired or replaced. He decided he didn't wanna fix it so I'm getting a good deal on it and it still has a good clean title. It's a 98 xlt regular cab short bed with a 2.5l and a 5 speed. So far the short term plan is to get it fixed enough to drive it back and forth to work so I can stop driving my 68 suburban. Long term, I'd like to put a long travel suspension on it, drop in an explorer 5.0l, and put on a fiberglass one piece front end and bedsides.

Welcome. Should be a easy fix for you, working at a body shop.

I have a 67 suburban that I'm building and a 68 that I drive to and from work. And yeah it's not too bad and yes being a professional body tech does help.

Wow. I guess anything would be a step up in the MPG department compared to that. That project was a school bus? Must've been a pretty small school.

It's from union school district in California. It had modified seat placement so it could seat 12 total, 4 rows of 3. I forgot to mention in my official post, I'm new to California as well. I just moved out here from northwest Ohio in June.

Well it seems that my time here may have been short lived. The owner of the ranger keeps changing the price. It would seem that every time he goes to the bar the price goes up. In the time he's been jerking me around I have found a good deal on a grand cherokee limited.
