this wasnt enough room to get the engine out

and yes my engine hoist is more beefier than that now, i got 2 full length legs on the side the same as the ones there only angled out a bit

that hoist i had started buckling down too much, so i climbed up in the roof and wrapped a cable around the rafters and some other 2x6 and hoist the motor up like i should of done in the first place.

hey some of the pics were good lol

got the coil, plug wires, dipstick, and so much other shit off the engine.

tonight i pulled off the base pan, removed the main bearing cap and pulled the old seal out. easy to tell where it was leaking. ill get some pics of it hopefully tonight, should have the new seal in tomorrow, and hopefully pick up some paint and my new gaskets and order the base pan gasket.

bottom of the engine without basepan

2-peice seal, 1 part goes in little seam just behind the flywheel you can see the little opening there for it on each side of the crank, the other side of the seal comes out with the bearing cap

and heres how im changing the seal, motor on about a 70 degree angle

heres what the floor looks like with the carpet an insulation ripped up. i got part of the trans hump bed liner'd jus need to scrape off the old insulation from the passenger side and do that much

as soon as i hauled the base pan off, it was amazing what i saw. its the first time i saw that much of an engine. its amazing how that all works
