Does the coil recommended in the 2.8 Duraspark Conversion article need a ballast resistor?

If you use your factory tfi coil, no you don't need to.

I have two coils. The first one is an Autozone replacement coil. The second is the one listed for the TRS 2.8 Duraspark Conversion. Are you saying the replacement one does not but the TRS Conversion one does?

The canister style needs the resistor. The factory one doesn't.

The one in the napa link is the canister type and needs the resistor.
