I just picked up a 1993 2wd Splash. Id like to lift it to get a little more ground clearance. I've read the tech articles on lifting 2wd rangers so I plan to use spacers and blocks. My question is, should I get some regular 2wd springs to start with, and install them the same ti!e as the lift? My understanding is that the splash springs are shorter. Second is, will I run into any other issues with the splash components that would interfere with the lift (i.e. sway bar, weird shock mount)?

Thanks!

My credo
In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.
I don't think the Splash springs are different. I could be wrong. I'm currently doing a lift on my '93 4x4 Splash and didn't have to specify "Splash" when I ordered the lift kit. The new leaf springs they (Skyjacker) sent fit fine.

Shock mounts will be the same. But you should probably get longer shocks. How much lift are you aiming for?

Not sure about sway bars. I'm doing a 6" lift and longer sway bar links come with my kit. I may leave the rear sway bar off since I won't be carrying any heavy loads after the lift is installed.

Don't forget about longer brake lines if you do a significant amount of lift.

The 4x4 Splash is just like any other Ranger, the 2WD is different. The spring code (on the door) for most Splash Rangers is KK. This code indicates high rate springs, coils and a rear sway bar.

The front springs are different for the Splash, not only are they a high rate spring they are also one inch shorter that the standard Ranger spring. Left spring, Splash, Right spring Ranger.

Spring code for Splash Ranger with Sport Suspension.

Yes springs and coils from a standard Ranger will raise the front of your truck up around 1-inch and the rear around two inches. I actually replaced all suspension components on my Ranger with the components from a Splash back in 2011.
