I just bought a 1984 Ranger for $740 with a bad 302 motor, I took it out and rebuild it. The Ranger had some cheap homemade motor mounts and frame plate. So I bought the Trans depot motor kit, But when I put them on the frame and drop the motor in and bolted on the transmission. The motor is about 1-2 inches to forward and won't go in the slot. I don't know if I have to move the motor and transmission back? Then it might be too close to the firewall. I believe that I have a FMX transmission? Any help will be appreciated Thank you.
Did anybody have to move the transmission crossmember to make everything fit?
