Hello.

I’m working on my front axle and was going to replace the axle bearings.
No big deal. Get bearing puller and slide hammer out and the job is done in no time.
So I thought...
Somehow I can’t find a bearing puller that fits to pull either of the bearings.
There’s just not enough room to get behind them.
Is there something I’m missing, or do the standard puller don’t work?

Any advice is much appreciated.
Thanks,
Olivier

I tried different pullers from car part places, but none work.
Does anyone have experience with removing those?
Would this Internal Puller Set do the job?

Thanks for any help.
Olivier

what?

ttb/tib styles??

are you referring to the inner spindle on a 4x4 or the bearing race in the rotor?

I bushing cut the inner spindle and tap the races with a drift on the rotors....2wd or 4x4.....unless it a later unit bearing model.

I’m taking about the D35 differential assembly.
The two CV driveshafts go from there to the hubs.
The driver side has a bearing that supports the CV joint in the housing.
On the longer passenger side is an inner axle shaft that spins on a needle bearing.
Those are the ones I need to remove.
Parts 16 shown in the exploded view on this page. “Stub shaft bearing”.

Thanks

I had a similar problem when I installed the Torsen diff in my truck (2009 FX4).
I ended up leaving the bushing/bearings in there since they still looked good. I do not know exactly where to get replacements, as when I looked for parts it gave me the bearings that did not even fit properly with the stub shaft on the passenger side or the cv shaft on the driver side. Here is the link to the thread I started a few months ago with pictures.
