its a 91. without egr... would be nice to get a computer without egr so i don't have a check engine code. i finally found one for my auto about a year after the swap but now i need a manual trans computer

Ok, I've got one for that.

I have at the moment:
2)X2X2 these work 1990-1992
4)ANY1 1993 only
1)YAM1 1994 ONLY and that 1994 AFTER 05/10/94
(clearly marked ON the computer, top left of tag)
and
1)SEE2 1995 ONLY

I "collect" 4.0/5sp computers to save them from being crushed
and because people ask for them...

allen isen't the x2x2 an explorer cpu?you were saying something about the explorer cpu making more torque on the bottom end but do you need to re-pin the connector?if it would work it sounds like you might get better mileage with the explorer tune.

The X2X2 is an Explorer cpu and allows a torque peak at a lower rpm.

Repinning? not that I know of.

an X2X2 plugged right into my brother's 1990 4.0 (converted from an auto)
and never had a problem.

Until his aged engine with major oil leaks ran out of oil one morning
and chucked a rod:)

1991-92 computers are interchangable.

I should mention that 90 computers are also interchangable if you ignore the fact that
there is no such thing as a 1990 4.0 manual trans computer. (the 5sp wasn't available until very late in the year, effectively 1991)

The earliest 4.0 Ranger I've ever seen with a 5sp was produced
in august of 1990, it was a 1991 STX supercab.

I bought the roller frame from that truck for my project beast.

what did you get the cpu out of?there is a 3 or 4 digit # at the top of the white sticker with a bar code that allen is refering to and you can also call a dealer and have the parts department decode the long # at the bottom of the sticker.
