I have my 2.9 torn down. I have the plastigage but I am not to clear on the proper clearance. The specs say .0008 to .0015 oil clearance. Is this what I am checking? the plastigage has two packages. one pack is .001 to .003. The other pack is .002 to .004. do I multiply the oil gap by 2? Can someone give me a little help on this?

Use the green one .001 to .oo2 you dont double any thing, the wider the plastic gauge is the less clearance there is after its been compressed, then use the scale on the package, be sure all the surfaces are clean and dry and tighten every thing to specs, plastic gauge is always layed out on the surface length wise front to back
