Ok, not sure if this should go in here or one of the electrial sub forums. Anyhow, I have an '01 4x4, four door. I hooked up my trailer to it and the right side light isnt working at all, no brake, running, blinker, nothing. So I got one of those electricle tester with the leds you just plug into the vehicle side connecter. Two of the three led's light up, the only one that doesnt is the right side light. Indicating there is a problem with the vehilce wiring. I checked the fuses under the dash and they are good. Does anyone have any ideas, or know of a "common" problem like this?

the wire at the plug is likely corroded. might need to splice some wire in.

I had to fix mine last weekend except it was the tailight wire. The wire is probably corroeded as hell as Combs said, most likely from the wire rubbing against something on the undrside of the truck, removing the insulation and exposing the wire. So start at the trailer connector and work your way back you should find where its broken, and then splice in a new section. Dont forget to heat shrink the connections, and then use either wiring loom or multiple layers of electrical tape.

I had same problem with my '03, but on the left side, found that the fuses for the trailer wiring are under the hood in the distribution box. just a thought that could save ya some time.
