Most of you will remember me having this truck:

Then I sold it and bought:

Then I added Rough Country Leveling Kit:

And how it sits today, with maxxis bighorn tires:

yea its a chevy, but I love it. 315 horsepower is a lot more than the 98 that my 2.3 had.

I'm not a Chevy fan at all but I have to admit I love the new one like yours. When my f-150 was totaled I got a rental truck it was like yours except extended cab and I was very impressed with the power and handling of the truck. I was tempted then to get one similar but wound up with my powerstroke instead. But the Chevy was very impressive and had a lot of Get up and go to be as heavy as it is.

I've definitely been impressed with my chevy. Even though its 2wd, it's got the Eaton G80 locker in it and I haven't been anywhere I couldn't get out of. I was dead set on an F150, but this impressed me a lot more. Plus I love the way it looks over the same year 150. I'm always getting compliments on it. Haven't completely given up on ford though, got a decent raise at work, and I'm thinking a mustang gt will SOON be in my future.

My G80 has certainly held up to some serious abuse already!!!
Its a big step up in overall quality compared to the f150 I feel.
Stock tires, I got 24MPG highway! (average of 22-24)
Since the bigger tires, its dropped to about 18-20, and in town, being winter, its as low as 10-12...
(lots of idling)

My ranger got consistant 15 town, 21 highway.
So really, same milage, 160 more HP, room for 6 (4 comfy)
and with the 4.8, already pulled a 4700# trailer no PROBS.
haha did a 0-60 vid with the trailer on!!
CHECK IT OUT!

i get about 21 mpg on the highway, even with the leveling kit and mud tires. Haven't had any problems with the G80. Only one I've seen go bad was from a kid doing a massive burnout on the street, but abuse can tear up anything. Knock the 5.3 all you want, but my truck will shit and get for a fullsize truck. And I got some shiny new wheels

I think its a great truck. The 5.3L is an awesome engine. My mom just got a 2011 Yukon and it gets 23 on the highway. And I'm in Utah where flat land is hard to come by :) I'll always be a GM guy even though I love my BII... I even work at a GMC dealership and drive the bronco to work occasionally. One of the mechanics even drives a late 90s ranger. Way better fuel economy than his Duramax.
