ok so i found a 89 f250 with a 351 5 speed and manual t case i think its a 9" and a dana 44ttb. question is would all this go into my ranger i kno its alot of work but i do have experiance my dads been a mechanic for 25 years i have access to a shop and basicly any tool i need. i want to convert the efi to a carb.also ive read about axle swaps on here and came across the dana 44 ttb swap so i think i can do that but another question is with a 250 is it going to be wider?

a solid axle will give you the best flex that ttb 44 wont flex any better than your 35 ttb

i kno a solid axle would be better. but im not concerned with flex or it being a mud/snow plow. i just want somthing that not everyone has done. i kno some ppl have but not alot. and i also want this truck to look similar to a trophy truck so tht eliminates a solid front axle

ive looked at that but i dont want to do that the whole point of the dana 44 swap was for the width. i kno its just barely stronger thena dana 35. thanks though. what im really looking for is to see if the entire combonation will work aka motor, trans, transfercase, and axles.

not a 9" if it's a F250, 5 or 8 lug rotors? Could be a dana 50 front mabey and ford 10 1/4" rear end.

i'll have to go back and look again... is there a track width difference between the 9" and the 10.25"? and my dad used to have a 1978 f250 custom witha full float 9" i think it was a 8 lug too. and as for the dana 50 if it is one would it be better or worse... i dont remember much about 50s

The 78 f250 Full float would be a Dana 60 not a 9" they never made a factory Full float 9" . The 50 is a Dana 44 with Dana 60 outers, a total waste. You are better off just swaping either a Dana 60 front or a Dana 44 solid axle. Plus if that truck was a f250 it would have front leafs and your ranger has coils.

All the axles from a fullsize are going to be wide compared to your ranger. All f150, f250 and even f350 axles will be atleast 65" WMS and your ranger is around 58" WMS.

Why not just wheel the F250???

Putting all that stuff into a ranger is a waste of time.

damn really hope its not a dana 50 and its a f-250 with coils up front. i kno the fullsize axles will stick out but thats what i want.

f250 ius way too big and heavy for me i like my little ranger plus i dont think its a waste of time my ranger needs a motor and wider and stronger axles to run the size tire i want plus a 351 ranger would be damn bad ass in my opinion
