Welcome to TRS :)

Don't need to reset ABS it does a self-check each time key is turned on, so resets itself.

I would re-check front wheel sensor connections if ABS light comes on and stays on with key on, if ABS comes on after driving then one of the new sensors may be bad.
There will be an ABS Code that you can read that will tell you which wheel is the problem

If you want you can disconnect battery for 5 minutes, to let capacitors drain, and then reconnect battery, that will "reset" any microprocessor systems in the vehicle.
Idle will wander a bit on start up until computer relearns setting after being reset.

My abs light has been on for a couple of years now.

A friend checked, the front sensors are bad, the rear sensor is bad.

I may be fixing it soon but you are supposed to have regular non-ABS brakes when the system isn't working.

yes.

I drove my 2000 for several years with the ABS light on.
