Hi guys, I made a thread about this a while back when I was less informed about the problem I am currently dealing with, ill try to explain this better.

So here's the issue, I have an M5OD transmission out of my old Ranger and I want to put it into my Bronco II. the Bronco has an a4ld trans mated to a BG1354 T-case. the M50D has a BG1350 (manual shift). the issue is that the Broncos current t-case has a (what I believe is an output shaft) with a flat plate that the driveshaft bolts up to. the other t-case from the rangers trans has a saddle for a U-join rather than a flat plate. I was wondering if I can swap these input shafts or find another workaround. I have everything I need to do my swap but this issue is making me pause. As far as I can tell the front drive shafts are the same between the transmissions and will fit. I had the idea of mating the Broncos current t-case to the new transmission but I can't find anything online that might help back up that theory. I apologize if I've used the wrong terminology I'm still new to all this. also, I noticed that both output shafts have a bolt 30mm or so if I unbolt this will it allow me to simply swap them between the transmissions?? (i attached pictures I found on the forum that show both input shafts pretty well to highlight the problem)

-any help or ideas would be much appreciated

My credo
In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.
First off, you are talking about the transfer case "output" shafts. You will have better luck searching for info that way.

I have heard that th hose shafts can be interchanged. But I have not done it. I would also think that if you remove the nut, then remove the yoke or flange from each one, then you could measure the shaft diameters and count the splines to see if they can be swapped that way.

I also believe that either transfer case will b OP let up to th ed m50d. But check out the articles in the "how to tech" section of this website. There is a lot of info there.

That should read "bolt up to the m50d"

Sorry I didn't proofread before sending.

Use the transfer case that fits your drive shafts. They will both bolt up to either transmission.

Less work to keep the B2 transfer case with the B2. Just swap your transmission and go driving.

You may not have the other drive shaft but you could probably get one. I'm guessing slip spline is the same as the one for the manual T case.
