As MustahWaffles said banner is now in my hands. Down in Ft. Worth at my sisters. Will be bringing it thru Arkansas on way to TN handoff to Ranger SVT.

Anyone in the I30 corridor from Dallas to Little Rock and then I40 from Little Rock to Memphis who wants opportunity to sign it, speak up now.

Bosses decided I am working Saturday, but Sunday is open. I should be able to meet you and/or SVT on Sunday just need to figure out when and where.

An_slack does your BII have two pumps? Wandering if you might have a bad low pressure pump.

I haven't looked at it so don't know. Just stock 2.9L configuration for 87.

Some of those early efi trucks had a low pressure pump in tank and a high pressure pump outside the tank. The high pressure outside the tank isn't good at pulling fuel from the tank so it needs that low pressure to feed it. If the low pressure pump fails the truck may continue to run but isn't getting a steady supply of fuel, and could starve/die if the high pressure pump can't pull enough to meet demand.

Unfortunately I don't know how the 87 is designed either.

As Ranger SVT said. I am currently 45 miles west of Nashville.

Little Red Broncette has carried me 4500+ miles over the following week of which approximately 800 miles has been with the banner. Not bad at all for a 28 year old vehicle in my opinion.

She has been running very good since we've gotten to lower altitudes so much of what I was experiencing was faulty expectations on my part. At higher elevations there is less oxygen and thus less power that can be obtained. I was wondering why out west (when elevations got higher) "Regular" was 85 octane rather than 87. Lower air pressure means less air in the cylinder and thus while compression ratio is constant the absolute cylinder pressure is less hence it can operate at lower octane.

Still there is that one unexplained event which hasn't shown up since. Replacing the fuel filter remains on my list.

thank you RangerSVT for coming down to meet tomorrow and move it on the following weekend.

Is the Banner up for grabs?

Has anyone decided whether it will be traveling up North.......or.....to the South.

I am still scheduled to go from New Orleans to Montgomery ALA to Augusta to Charleston...........then to Savannah to Jacksonville to Biloxi to New Orleans.

Like I said.....why don't we get this one to key West NOW.....so Jim O. can start a 2015 Banner from Eastern Canada down the Atlantic Coast to Key West!

Me and the Ag_.................................

I started the day in Laramie, WY and just settled in tonight in Amarillo, TX

Feeling much better today after good rest last night.

I am planning the banner pickup Thursday a bit after noon. I will then head to DFW area to my sister's. I will stay there overnight. I am not sure if I will head out early Friday or later in stay another night till Saturday morning. Depending on that, I will hit Nashville either Saturday or Sunday. Thank you RangeSVT for being flexible.

Today, I took a side trip to Pikes Peak which I found was right off my route. After taking her up to the top of Pike's peak...well that bit of hesitation on the highway seems like nothing at all.....lol....she had trouble going up in second most of the time. Can't blame her, once on the summit (14K ft) I was finding myself feeling a bit light headed.

Now that she is out of the mountains she is happier. So maybe the thinner air was a contributor. Still got to do something about that filter.

I think I have put almost 3,500 miles on her since last Friday.
thin air causing problems sounds more like an air delivery issue to me, yeah you'll use more gas because of the steepness, but to compensate for the thin air, it should be less fuel in general... could be a mass airflow sensor or your truck's version of that, or could be something like a really dirty air filter, both easy to check/fix!
