arrow: you need some way of marking your driveline and tires (tape, grease marker, ect) a jack, and 2 jack stands.
jack the rear axle up and support it with both tires off the ground (make sure the truck doesnt roll).
mark the drive line and mark both tires at their "12-o-clock" positions.
with the trans. in nuetral, you need to slowly spin both tires at the same time, in the same direction...keeping them even with each other. as you rotate them, they will spin the driveline. watch the driveline and count how many revolutions it makes for 1 revolution of the tires.
3 1/2 turns means you have 3.45 gears.
3 3/4 turns means 3.73's.
just over 4 turns is 4.10's.
