My credo
In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.
There are a lot of threads about this and probably some good info in the "how to tech" section of this sute. My understanding is that the m5r2 that mates to the 3.0l will not bolt up to the 5.0l because the bellhousing is wrong. Since the bellhousing is not removable, it can't be swapped. You will have to find a transmission with the right bellhousing.

you need a m5odr2 from either a 88-96 f150. or a 97-01 f150 with the 4.2 v6

the 88-96 model puts the shifter closer to the dashboard. while the 97 and up will put it almost back in the rangers stock location .

you need a 164 tooth flywheel. a clutch for a 1995 f150 with the 5.0. '

the slave cylinder will work off your rangers transmission.

your factory transmission will neither fit, nor last behind a v8.
