Would it be possible for me to tow a 1995 Audi 90 on a tow dolly behind my Ranger, or should I look into borrowing a full size?

1993 2wd 3.0 auto.

Oh, and its a Quatro so it's AWD. Would that make a difference as to dolly vs trailer?

I've towed 2400 lbs with weight in my bed with my 2.5 for 40 miles. Its slowgo and I avoided the highway and hills also gave myself about 500ft to stop but I did it. Im sure your small v6 can handle it. I dunno if you would have to go trailer on a AWD audi. If you gotta go trailer rent the smallest uhaul car trailer and you'll be ok. how far you gotta tow?

About 40 miles of highway. I'll have people passing me like crazy. :D

The car runs, I just don't know how well it drives. So I've decided to wait on that.

How much does a small UHaul trailer cost for rent?

If it's Quattro, all 4 wheels must be off the ground when towing.

My credo
If you're not making mistakes, you're not learning.

That was going to be my concern.

Otherwise the weight should be fine. I towed my dad's 2005 Ion on a U-haul trailer with my '97. The 4 cylinder did 50mph no problem (I did get there slowly though), and that was before I replaced the original fuel filter. Since it was a full deck trailer it had trailer brakes, just in case someone flips out.

I never had a problem.

damn a uhual trailer alone weights 1600 lbs. if you took the rear drive shaft out of the car you would be able to tow it on a car dolly. i would take the rear drive shaft out and dolly it. they will save you a ton of weight and money

Hm. I think I'll just have a friend of a family go down and pick it up. He has two fullsize car trailers and an F250. He'd probably charge me gas + 15.

If you have ever removed a rear driveshaft from a quatro you would know that it's not an easy option.
