Welcome to TRS
Yes it will, same 4.0l OHV engine
In 1997 the 4.0l got a new crank using 8 bolt rear connection, 1996 and earlier were 6 bolt, so you should be OK, but not a "big deal" if it is an 8-bolt, you just need an 8 bolt flywheel or flexplate
You should plan on changing oil pan, just have to look and see for that
Also upper and lower intake manifolds, sensor placement and wiring will be different, 1995 and up Rangers used a different computer and wiring harness.
Always put in a new Rear Main Seal when any engine is out, or transmission is off, they are cheap and hard to get to if they start to leak.
1996 will have a CAM sensor at the rear top of the block, 1993 will have an Oil Pump Drive, looks like a plug for the hole.
You will pull out the whole CAM sensor unit and install the 1993 oil pump drive in its place.

So basically the same, but cam sensor had a top section which needed to be "timed", oil pump drive does not.
If you have an automatic make SURE you know about torque converter "seating" before mating engine to trans, VERY VERY IMPORTANT!!!!
