Id love one of those 59 4x4s.

Traverse a 6ft ditch? Wonder how many modern ford (or hell any) 4x4s could do that.

My cousin had a 59 F100 4x4 but I think it had an automatic in it. Its been several years so I can't recall for sure...unfortunately he scrapped it :(...would have been a fun truck to go through and restore as it didn't have any rust on it, and no body damage just needed to be sanded down and repainted and have the engine and transmission gone through, can't recall why it didn't run but it had sat for 30 years when he hauled it home so who knows what all it needed LOL.

After I sold my '59 and was working graveyard at a quickie mart at the ripe age of 20, Bill the paper guy said he almost bought a '59 Ford 4x4 crew cab.

What better vehicle for someone working just above minimum wage?

Got the owners number, told him Bill said to contact him. He said $250 was what he wanted, as there was no engine and the glass was all broken.

Scraped $250 together and called back. Guy said he really needed $350.

Got that together. Then he said "I really need $450 for it, I know what I have." Yeah, well that will be $450 from someone else Jack.

It still sat in his yard another 3 years or so...then it was gone.

Should've kept on until I got it.
