I went to orielly's to buy a new door ajar switch, brought it home, it connects into the connector fine, but it doesnt fit the latch. The one that i took off the latch the connector doesnt fit. I was wondering if maybe someone put diffferent latches from another year on the vehicle. Could yall maybe shed some light on what step I should take next? In the picture, the old switch is on the left, and the new one is on the right.

83-94 show to use the same part number in my parts cataloging, and 95-04 show to use the same part bumber for that range of years. do you have any oe ford numbers written on the switch? the one i list for your 95 looks identical to the one you got from o-really auto parts, so you may have to go to the dealer or a junk yard to get an identical one?

Okay, first off, I apologize for posting in the wrong forum. I'm a newbie forgot to read the sticky. Next, i figured it out. Apparently my ranger has 2 switches on the driver door latch. one that turns on the lights when you lift the exterior door handle (the one with the clip) and then the normal switch that kicks on the light when the door is open. I hope that this info helps anyone else who gets confused by the 2 switches.
