I coulda sworn i had a build thread on here but i guess not so here you go.
This is as far back as my pictures go due to a computer crash.
Spring '05 a few months after chop.
as you can see the paint sucked but she was suprisingly rust free for an 84.
here are some more pics of how the cab was done.
shortly after this i ripped out the rest of the carpet, made the doors removeable and put on some primer.
mini photo shoot.
i finally rounded up enough cans of OD green paint.
found a push bar at the junk yard.
then my 2.8 went KA-BOOM! so she sat for about 2.5 years.
2008 almost back on the road. she got a rebuilt 2.8 and tranny, 33's and round headlights, and 4.0 radiator.
ran her for about 6 months and decided to do a duraspark.
also added a tach at the same time.
one day i got a wild hair and decided to fix a dent that had been in my fender since before i got it. i didn't have any OD green left but my work has tons of flat black and flat brown so i thought, "what the hell". also took some forklift flex pics.
i also tinted my lights with this stuff and added some diamond plate to bed rails.
this is around the time when i snapped a d28 drive shaft and decided to upgrade to d35 and 8.8 so i bought a 93 explorer with a bad head gasket for $250. (made $200 scrapping it after i pulled the axles and seats and center console.)
here are the seats and console in with seat covers.
you didn't think i was gonna just throw the new axles in there and be done with it did you? no sir. she gets 4.88's front and rear, an aussie up front with a set of warn hubs and a mini spool in back.
front is ready to go back together.
if you do an aussie locker and don't do a c-clip eliminator you will need to grind on the clip to get it to fit in the locker.
all painted up and ready to go in.
also scored 5 procomp 35" mt's.
thats all for now because i'm sick of typing.
