Hey guys, been a member on this site for awhile but never posted my own truck. Hopefully it can inspire anyone thinking about it. OK so now about the truck!
I purchased the 1993 ford ranger "splash" 4.0 v6 from my grandpa when i was 15, had camper-shell, pin-striping, stock wheels, stock EVERYTHING! SO i went to work on it!
First thing to go was the camper-shell and replaced with a in-bed tonnue cover. Took some custom fabing due to the step side "splash" edition but came out awesome! Next i turned my attention to the interior. Summit racing had some nice Pro-car seats and figured i would change out the stock grey carpet for new black while i was at it.
Then i figured i would change out the stock wheels for some 18's on cooper Zeon tires. BUT a new problem came out of that, the ride hight looked wrong with the new low profile tires, so i ordered a DJM 4' lowering kit complete with flip kit and dream beams. New shocks installed and kit installed the truck still didn't sit perfect so i used a chevy lowering shackle which worked as a one inch lift in the rear to give it that slight rake.
After that i decided the truck needed a cowl hood, so i picked one up and had it painted. I think it came out pretty good, but it still didn't have a rumble to it so i added a 2.5 cat-back Gibson exhaust and now it has a MEAN rumble.
Through the years i have spent thousands on a/c's and oil leaks and more recently a tranny and clutch but the truck has been great! nearly 20 years old and still has original paint everywhere but hood. Drives like new and has never left me stranded, been a great truck and a true testament to ford, but anyway here are some picks after i put a coat of wax on it. ALSO on the tailgate there is a minor dent that i have since repaired. A lot of money has been spent on this truck to make it look like i haven't spent money on it haha if that makes sense, lights ect.
Let me know what you guys think! I have owned this truck for 7 years. It was my first and only vehicle, it has been through thick and thin with me. I polish it up and make it look nice and also haul my quad out to the dunes with it. Thanks for viewing it guys!!
