I am going to put a 4 inch lift with 33s on my truck, but i need to know the following. Ok the kit is a starter kit, but will i need a steering extender, brake line extenders, how will i adjust the angle of my split shaft driveshaft? any help would be appreciated

is it suspension lift?

if so... you will need extended brake lines, what you will need for steering is a drop pitman arm.. should be in the kit, even the most basic of kits. however, that pitman arm is not good... its a 2" drop for a 4" lift. you need the extreme drop pitman arm or even better the superrunner steering kit. what brand kit are you getting? rough country?

what you'll need is.. hopefully i can remember everything

front:
axle drop brackets, sway bar drop brackets or longer links, radius arm drop brackets or longer radius arms, shocks, coils, brake lines, drop pitman arm (at least, i'd recommend upgrading this unless you get the TRUE 4" drop pitman arm)

rear:
lift method (new leafs, add a leaf, blocks, shackles, whatever), shocks, and "maybe" longer brake lines.

other:
drive shafts may need to be addressed.. it varies. mine, had to be lenghtened for my 4" lift. i took an explorer shaft and got it shortened down for mine since my b2 had the stupid cv drive shaft.

its not that bad really.
most lifts seem to include a block of somesort that is a tapered block to help w/ your pinion angle..

like i mentioned before elsewhere, i HIGHLY recommend not buying a kit for lifting a ttb truck.. here's the list of more desirable things...

FRONT:
xj coils (4" or 6" lift coils)

good drop brackets (VMS, skyjacker, superlift [which ever one TRS parts sell])

bilstein 5125 shocks w/ f250 shock towers (longer shocks, more flex!)

jeep tj, yj, cj quick disco's... will work to mount sway bar in stock location to the axle in the stock place----- but you can quickly disconnect them for offroad flex) i'll be doing this soon, watch my build thread in my sig.

superrunner steering

extended brake lines

extened the stock radius arms about 16 inches (i believe)

REAR:
belltech 6400 shackles

bastard pack of leafs for a little lift but not to much to make it to stiff. yota leafs are good to make bastard packs IMO

whatever shim you need to align the pinion angle

shocks to match the front

brakelines

OTHER:
drive shafts
manual hubs are always good

all this info is all over the site. look around in the tech library.. build threads of several. deciplerocks and legoms13 are good ones to look into for ttb stuff. copycat's b2... just look around. you'll find some good stuff.

Yes on the extended brake lines.

Skyjacker extreme drop pitman arm or SuperRunner steering system.

And ditch the old two piece shaft for a single piece one from a 98 or new extended cab (I assume that is what you have right?).

Use degree shims to get the pinion angle right.

And negative on the steering shaft extension...that is only for bodylifts.

All this is in the Tech Library and Magazine sections of the website.

I got a 4" suspension lift and a 3" body lift, and never needed extended brake lines. Good luck with your truck. We got close to the same truck

You didn't need brake lines? Did you make a bracket or something for the front to move them down more?

No sir. Nothing is leaking and nothing has tension, so it was less work for me. :icon_cheers:
