I recently bought a set of 17" wheels off of a 2011 jeep patriot for a great price, had to get the front set machined slightly (for 50 bucks) to fit. I love the wheels and how they look on my ranger but they are horribly (imo) in need of spacing out. They are imo too far tucked in behind the fender well and I would like to push them out as far as possible like 2,3 inches. I can get wheels adapters that will give me 1 1/4" but am not too familiar with adapters. I know the backspacing on these wheels are horrible, but I want to make them work. Anyone have any advice on installing adapters - easy? should have them done professionally? know-it-alls who are going to tell me to get different wheels can skip to a different thread thanks

Wheels look nice.

You can buy adaptors on Ebay all day long for cheap. 5x4.5

If I were putting them on my truck, I would use some blue locktite to affix the adaptors to the hubs when tightening the inner set of nuts.

Just.
In.
Case.

Here's a set of 1.5" spacers, I didn't price check, these were the first to pop up, so you'll have to look around.

Do you have some side pics showing down the whole length of the truck so we can see how the wheels sit in relation to the body?? Or a dead-on shot from the front?

The adaptors/spacers don't take up any more room on your studs than a regular wheel does.

yeah...the studs are a non issue.....the pain is the 50 bux on machining was unnecessary and should have went towards the spacers.

Oooohh I see.. Thanks man. Would you be confident with these spacers from eBay? Do they make the wheels lug centric as appose to hub centric?

you have to spend some coin to have custom hub centric.

but i would have no worries with this application. be responsible and check torque at fuel ups initially to feel them out.

I've never used them, but lots of people do.

If you were building a serious off-roader to abuse, maybe not such a good idea.

But if it's just a daily driver street truck, they would be much less stressed, so I wouldn't sweat it.
