I am down the last item for me to repair on the 1988 B2 XLT 4 X 4 with electric shift.

I am trying to remove the module from the dash so I can disconnect the connector to test it. However, it will not come out of the opening without removing the connectors but there is no way to grab ahold of the connector without taking it out.

Do I have to remove the the dash front cover?? It has the glove box as well as a recess compartment above the glove box.

Any advise/help would be greatly appreciated.

I did do a search on both this forum as well as the B2/Explorer forum plus the tech library

Thanks in advance

Gene

is this an 89/ newer. you need to take out the dash trim. the whole panel comes out and the the heat vent comes out with the buttons attached (IIRC) if its a Gen 1 I don't remember how to take it out....... because it was in the headliner and I never took it out.

Its an 88 B2 and is mounted in the dash. I guess I will have to take the trim off.
